Warp Tattoo Studio Chiang Mai: Your Guide to Every Style We Work In

Warp Tattoo is a single, women-owned studio in the heart of Chiang Mai's Old City at 52 Singharat Rd, open daily 10:00 to 18:00. We are not a chain and we do not try to be everything to everyone. Instead, we work across nine style categories, each with the equipment and approach that style needs, and every design is drawn by hand for the person wearing it.

Choosing your style

Choosing a tattoo style comes down to two decisions: how you want the piece to age, and which look actually matches what you have been saving to your phone. Bold work like blackwork survives decades of sun with little upkeep. Delicate work like fine line looks precise but needs shade and occasional touch-ups. Here is what we work in:

• Fine line. Thin, single-needle detail. See our fine line gallery.
• Sak Yant. Sacred Thai yantra designs, done with respect for the tradition. Browse the Sak Yant gallery.
• Realism. Portraits and lifelike shading, built from tone rather than bold outlines.
• Blackwork. Solid black shapes and graphic contrast, the slowest-ageing work we do.
• Bamboo. The traditional hand-poke method, done with a sterile single-use needle.
• Colour. Saturated work from small accents to full pieces.
• Minimal. One clean idea, reduced to essentials, often the classic first tattoo.
• Geometric and mandala. Precise pattern and radial symmetry.
• Custom. Any of the above, drawn by hand for your body and your idea.

How booking works

Message us on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, by phone, or through the site's contact form, and we will match your idea to the right artist. The design itself is free. A deposit locks your appointment and starts the drawing, and it comes off your final price; it is non-refundable if you cancel within 24 hours. Walk-ins are welcome whenever a chair is free, though in high season booked appointments come first, so a message a few days ahead is the safer route.

Hygiene and safety

Needles, tubes, tips, gloves, and plastic wrap are single-use, opened fresh in front of you for every client. We tattoo with vegan Fusion and Eternal inks, and the studio follows strict sterilisation standards throughout the day, not just at opening. We tattoo adults 18 and over only, with photo ID checked, no exceptions.

How much does a tattoo cost? Machine work starts from around 1,000 THB for something small and simple; bamboo starts from around 2,000 THB. Every piece is quoted individually.

Do I need to book ahead? Walk-ins are welcome when a chair is free, but booking is the more reliable option, especially in high season.

Is the studio clean and safe? Yes. Single-use equipment, sterilised tools, and a daily clean are standard, not an upsell.
